VIXEN TEMPLE
Vixen Temple is a Te Whanganui-a-Tara based takatāpui performance artist, drag queen/king, burlesque performer, writer, sex witch and sex work activist determined to BURN THE PATRIARCHY. Born and raised in Ōtepoti Dunedin, Vixen Temple graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Arts in film, media and theatre. In December of 2018, Temple started working as a stripper where she found whanaungatanga within the sex work community.
Sex Worker/Activist:
Since April of 2018, Vixen Temple has worked in the sex work industry as a stripper, escort, sugar baby and an online porn creator. She is incredibly passionate about raising awareness of the issues that sex workers face, especially in relation to online censorship.
Vixen Temple sits on the board of NZPC: "Aotearoa / New Zealand Sex Workers' Collective is a New Zealand wide organization, which is run by sex workers for sex workers. We advocate for the rights, safety, health, and wellbeing of all sex workers. We are a grass roots not for profit organization. We provide information and services for people who are doing sex work or thinking about doing sex work."
Vixen Temple also sits on the board of Strippers United: A Labor movement of sanctuary strippers with “standards higher than our heels.” Temple is a member of Fired Up Stilettos: an Aotearoa based collective fighting for improved Industry standards & independent contractor protections, nationwide. This has manifested through giving a speech inside parliament about the injustices strippers face in Aotearoa, making history by protesting on parliament grounds with a stripper pole, and hosting a variety of fundraisers #KickUpAFUS

Performance Artist:
Vixen Temple uses performance art as a way to connect to The Dark Goddess. Vixen Temple is a witch whose rituals focus on sticking a middle finger to the patriarchy. Temple hopes her rituals will inspire her spectators to want to tear down oppressive intuitions such as misogyny, capitalism, white supremacy, whorephobia, ableism, and transphobia. May we destroy all narratives and ideologies that serve to maintain the patriarchy. Burn The Patriarchy!
Vixen Temple has two Drag King personas: Vincent Temple and Bruce the Strip Club. Vincent Temple is the brother of Vixen Temple and the masculine energy of The Temple coven. Bruce is a satirical character Vixen Temple created inspired by the typical male strip club customer. He is a way for Vixen Temple to poke fun at these sorts of men, while raising awareness about the way that sex worker clientele often acts.

As part of Wellington Fringe 2023, Temple debuted her one-woman comedy show Just the Tip: A Stripper's Guide to Strip Club Etiquette: "It's your first night as a stripper and Vixen Temple is here to guide you through the twists and turns of the strip club culture and introduce you to a diverse range of strip club clientele - all played by the one woman herself."
